I first heard of the C-Bowl when I was 12. I took the train an hour across town by myself to check it out. I had a Veriflex board from a department store and no pads or helmet. I kicked at the facewall for hours trying to get to the top. A few days later I did my first backside grind.
Check this video (the B&W super 8 footage) of some of "The Loud Ones" crew (Fred Smith, Kevin Day, Frank Lannon, Sean McLean). These were they guys I looked up to when I first started. Jake Phelps used to bag on me for not partying enough and skating too much. Still does. ha ha.

Skated the Carmel Valley park for a bit, then went over to the jump ramp 2.o and learned myself a new trick.

A few months back my good friend Dave Tuck was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and we knew he was in for the fight of his life. The group of friends from Ann Arbor, MI that grew up skating with him represent the moniker 'Local Chaos'. I helped rally the troops and another Local Chaos reuion was born. Some flew, others drove from Michigan and by the time we arrived Dave was already well into his chemo schedule. Being the tuff guy that he is, he still rolled around with us in the cold at the new Arvada skatepark he helped build. Most importantly though, we were all friends coming together for one of our own. Here's what it looked like through the lens of my GoPro. If you're in SoCal don't forget the Camtest benefit for Dave Feb 25th.
